60 tips to boost your child’s resilience and perseverance to teach you how to help your child be the best learner they can possibly be.

Let’s be honest! Every parent has a child who has experienced big emotions. Maybe they give up quickly, become frustrated, angry or sometimes feel overwhelmed (for example, if these lose a game). Perhaps they really don’t like making mistakes. Let me reassure you, it is completely natural for a young child to be driven by their emotional (rather than their rational ‘thinking’) brain. But knowing this doesn’t always make those meltdowns any less painful for you or your child.

Throughout their life, your child will always encounter struggles. Whether they are learning to get dressed, ride a bike, read, write or play a musical instrument, resilience, and the ability to persevere and bounce back after encountering difficulties, are skills we all want to nurture from a very young age. In fact, resilience and perseverance are such vital skills that they are a fundamental part of the early years curriculum.

  1. Emily –

This is such a useful tin that we’ve started using with our 6 year old. So far it has been really useful, especially with things that he finds tricky like learning to swim. We also have the Dinky Dice tin which is fabulous, and great to take on long journeys as well as on camping trips or a cafe; anywhere really! We have also joined some of Nicola’s webexes which are always crammed full of so much useful information. Nicola has such a wealth of knowledge and tips which has been a great help for both my boys so far.
