The Tricky Word tin has been my favourite tin to date! Portable and practical it is ideal for whipping out when your child is in the mood for learning. We are going to leave ours in the car for a bit, to mix up home learning. There is nothing like this on the market. I bought a product from Amazon on tricky words, but it is not nearly as useful. The Amazon item was quite confusing, as it included “temporary” tricky words. This product includes all the tricky words our daughter needs to know at the moment. Plus the games and challenges at the back are a bonus! I particularly love the fly swat and bingo dabber ideas.

This item arrived today and I am so impressed! My daughter was very excited to start using it. She wanted to read almost all of the words in the tin and I was amazed at how many she knew. We played some games too- she loved the memory game (I chose 3 words then hid one and she had to say which was missing), she then tested me too! She had so much fun- all whilst learning! I really enjoyed it too and it was a lovely activity to do together while little sister was napping! My daughter is going in to year one in September and she’s wanting to do activities all the time. The tins are fantastic! We have recently purchased the ‘tricky words’ tin where my daughter really enjoys reading the words (we have a quick flash card after reading) where she tries to beat her score. We have recently started to write them down or use magnets to spell them with. This has definitely helped with her confidence in both reading and writing in a fun way. Keep the tins coming!

Such a fabulous little tin! My daughter “loves it because it is so much fun and I can learn my tricky words and it helps me to read!” There are also some great little ideas of games to play in the tin as well which is really helpful. We have had 4 different tins now and each one has been great. My 8 year old and 4 year old are very energetic so using these at the dinner table really helps to engage them, keep boredom at bay and gets everyone talking. The cards work for all ages and I find my eldest often helping out the little one to help him join in which is really great.
